Khamaseen

Another weekend at moonbeach. No surfing this time as there was no wind. The windsack was hanging vertical all day and did not even wiggle. When we drove back towards the Suez tunnel, the weather started to turn around. We saw the massive dustcloud of a Khamaseen sand storm coming towards us from the other side of the Gulf of Suez.

Sandstorm crossing the Gulf of Suez

It is quite bad driving through a sand storm because you cannot see anything, and niether can the Egyptian busses that are still overtaking you at 100km/h. Luckily this one was short and by the time we reached the tunnel it was over.
